What a productive weekend! Yesterday Jeremy and I worked very hard in the yard all day. Jeremy has been amazing at completing weekend projects around the house and this weekend he cleaned the entire outside of the house! It looks so nice and bright like it was just painted! He got rid of all those ugly bugs and spiderwebs and dirt that had accumulated on the front porch ceiling and around the windows too that makes a WORLD of difference. I love it.
While he was risking his neck on the ladder I was planting my new flowers in the front flower bed. I have no idea what the previous owners did but all the "flower beds" were not very pretty and in odd places around the back and front yard. Just random and bordered by huge concrete rectangles that takes two guys to move. I kept the ones in the front because they look somewhat ok, but the ones in the back Jeremy and his bro Bryce moved a few weeks ago to form a fire pit at the very back of the yard. They are a much better fit as a fire pit than as garden borders! Anyway I bought a rose bush and a bunch of lilies from Home Depot and planted the rose bush in the center of the bed, and bordered the outisde with the lilies. There were already some lilies I had from last summer so I continued on the same line and now should have two rows of lilies if they all live and bloom! I will post pictures when they do. So should be a few months. I plan on planting more in that flower bed but want to see how the rose bush grows and which lilies make it before planting more.
Jeremy also attached long tubes to the gutters that come off the side of the house and buried them so the rain will stop washing away all the dirt around the house. This will prevent some major foundation issues in the future. I have married such a handy man!
So right now I'm so incredibly sore from being bent in the same position planting flowers for hours! My back and legs are yelling at me right now. Jeremy is gone for a week to training but will be back by next weekend. Right now the weather is absolutely amazing! Awesome spring time weather that is keeping the temp in the upper 60s low 70s with tons of sun! I'm hoping it continues to stay like this and that we have no more cold days!!!
