I'm BAAACK!

Ok folks! Sorry for no posts in such a long time! I was a little busy having a baby :) And here he was on the day he was born!

His hair was dark and really curly!! But it lightened to a blonde color and is only curly when it's wet :) he has little curls at the ends still though.

There were some complications after he was born. First with me I was losing a lot of blood and they thought they would have to go back in and find the cause of the bleeding. But after several shots and pills my doctor was finally able to control it. And for Caden he had my antibodies in his blood attacking his red blood cells which gave him a very bad case of jaundice. Because of it they had to transfer him to the medical center so he could be taken care of in the NICU. That was the saddest day of my entire life not being able to be with my baby not being able to hold him and seeing him have to be under the lights with the mask over his eyes and attached to all these monitors.

Because I had a c-section I still had to recover before I could be discharged and be able to leave and be with my baby. I had to pump every 3 hours to try and get enough milk for them to be able to feed him and of course since I was producing enough yet they started supplementing him with formula. I was sooo upset about it! I hated that I couldn't feed him myself and that he was being fed with a bottle. I didn't want him to refuse breast feeding because he was used to the bottle. But luckily because I was able to breast feed right after he was born and a little before they had to take him away he remembered how to latch on and he's been able to go easily back and forth between the bottle and the breast.

I have to run now but will be blogging more later to update everyone more on how Caden is doing now and how we're doing during my maternity leave!!
