My new project!

Previously I wanted to have the boys in seperate rooms because in our experience with Caden he didn't start sleeping through the night until he was about 6 months.  I was nervous ( and still am) about Christian waking up in the night to eat or just because that's what babies do, and waking up Caden. Talk about not fun. But then that would leave us with no guest room. And with my Mother in Law coming to stay with us and family visiting when the baby is born that would stink to not have the space.

Also I have a few friends that have their boys sharing rooms and say it's not that bad.  So I started to think more about it. There's more pros than cons to keeping the guest room so to Jeremy's relief I changed my mind :)

I'm soooo dang excited about the rooms!  I'm switching the rooms around so that Caden and Christian will get the bigger room which works out because it's already painted blue!  Then this morning I started thinking why am I looking at buying another convertible crib when we plan to have them sleep in bunk beds?! I thought should I get a regular crib for Christian? When would be good to let Caden start sleeping in a toddler bed? could I then just use this crib for Christian?  So many questions!

But here's what's going to happen: We're getting the bunk beds and dressers that Jeremy and his brothers shared growing up!  So Caden will move into the bottom bunk (with a guard rail) and Christian will take over the crib when he moves into the room.  For the first few months he will be in our room anyway.  So by then Caden will be right at 2 and ready for his big boy bed :) I can't tell you how happy I am that we are getting this furniture for free!!  My mother in law will be bringing it back with her when she drives back after Thanksgiving.  It's saving us so much money too. We would have to buy bunkbeds, mattresses, and dressers.

NOTE:  I realized I haven't shared this bit of FANTASTIC news yet with everyone, my Mother in law Alysa is coming tomorrow to stay with us and help out with taking care of Caden when we have to go to Atlanta for our appointments!  She will be here until Christian is born!  I know some of you are thinking that long with the Mother in law?! LOL. But she is amazing and we absolutely enjoy the time we get to spend with her.  Not to mention she's doing us a HUGE favor watching Caden when we have to go to Atlanta for weekly appointments, she's super helpful around the house.  And Caden will get to know his Nana :) She's such a blessing, I can't even thank God enough!

I've already switched the beds around today and will finish the rest tomorrow. It will seem a little empty for a while until we get the furniture but that's ok obviously.  And I get to decorate!  yay yay yay! The boys room will be a Texas theme :) The guest room will just be pretty and cozy, and just so much nicer than it was! It will be a little while for pictures but just know it's my fun project for now :)

  2. I can't wait to see this Texas themed room. It's going to look SO cute! What a blessing to have 2 boys that can share a room. Amy and I shared one until we were about 10 and we loved it!
