Anyway for some reason this year it didn't feel like Thanksgiving. I kept trying to figure out why. Perhaps the loss we just experienced. You know how you have something pictured in your head and when it doesn't turn out that way it throws everything out of whack?! I think that was part of it, but I realized this was my first Thanksgiving as a Stay at Home Mom! I didn't have that 'can't wait to have time off work' feeling. That relief of finally being home all day for a few days with my little family. Because I'm always home! :) It kind of felt like just another day just with lots more food and great company :)
And because we had our wonderful cleaning lady Vicky come the day before Thanksgiving I wasn't stressed out running all over the house cleaning! Now don't be jealous about Vicky. This sadly was her last visit since we won't be going to Atlanta anymore for our may doctors appointments. So I have to turn back into super cleaner again!
Also I was able to get all the sides and two pumpkin pies done in perfect timing with the Turkey. Alysa was a help too peeling the potatoes, making gravy, and setting the tables! And she woke up early and made a yummy blueberry coffee cake for breakfast.
It was a great day. Caden had a blast with everyone here. He was such a goofball all day. He loves hanging out with the guys. John and Jordan come over on Sundays to watch football so Caden knows them already and they are good friends :)
Of course couldn't post without sharing some pictures!
He's just so cute!
Dad! That is MY train! This is his awesome gift from Brittney :) He hasn't stopped playing with it. (Caden I mean ) hehe!
Frying the Turkey
SO YUMMY! This was the first year we fried a Turkey and it was the best turkey I have ever had!
Scarfing the turkey and stuffing down!
Chester's turn
Tigger wasn't sure if he was really allowed to eat it or not ;) hehe
Goofball!
Trying to sneak some dessert.
