For some reason had my mind set on joining the YMCA so that I could go to the RPM and body pump classes. Both are my favorite! Something about being with a group of people excersizing makes me work that much harder! But I kept putting off joining because it would be another $32 a month out of our budget. We just made a fabulous savings plan for the new year so if we adjusted it so I could join the Y then we would just be taking away from our savings.... Last night Jeremy and I talked more about it and he helped me remember that I can work out just as hard at home! DUH. We have P90X that when I was using it I loved it! Perfect. So here I go again on P90X! wish me luck yall. There should be no reason why I cant do this because I'm not working full time anymore. Caden takes wonderful afternoon naps and goes to school 3 days a week. So if I cant find the time then I'm just being lazy!
I started a great bible study from Beth Moore and at first was doing great! every evening after Caden was in bed and dishes were done I would go upstairs and spend time in the word. Then Friday night we went out to dinner for my birthday with some friends and I didnt do the study and it was all down hill from there! ah!
Caden has been crazy awesome at sleeping in lately so of course I sleep in too. But this is not good. I need to be waking up earlier than him so I can do my study and start my day off right with God. I'm just so NOT a morning person. I blame that on my mom ;) haha! She is not a morning person either. But really its just my fault. I know it, but wasnt admitting to myself that I was putting other things like evil facebook, and TV first. Then this morning as I'm about to write this blog post I stopped to read a post by a fun woman I've met a couple times. It basically talks about not spending enough time with God because of all the worldly things in our lives. God totally wanted me to read that. He just wants us to have a relationship with Him. You can read it on her blog called Patriotic Peacock. I dont want to re-word what she's already beautifully written.
One thing I have been able to stick to though is the verse memorization! WOO! I talked about it in this post There's only been one verse so far from the first two weeks of January and I've just started trying to memorize the second one. But I still say the first one to myself every day! I'm so proud of myself for memorizing it! "You crown the year with your good blessings and you leave abundance in your wake" Psalms 65:11. Here is the second one I'm memorizing:
"Whatever you do, work at it with all your heart, as working for the Lord, not for men, since you know that you will receive an inheritance from the Lord as a reward. It is the Lord Christ you are serving!" Colossians 3:23-24
Its a little longer so I hope I can do it as easily as the first. We read this verse in church on Sunday. It really spoke to me because it's so true! I may not have a job where I get paid but taking care of our home and our son is still my job. And when I think of working for the Lord it makes everything I do that much more rewarding. I mean doing everything in life with the purpose of serving God is AWESOME! And it brings so much joy. If only I could have had this attitude when I was working a full time job. I would have been way more productive!! ;)
I'll keep yall updated on my progress through the bible study and working out. Have a great day!
Lots of love and blessings to you!
Great post! Being in the Word daily is a goal of mine this year too and reading posts like yours and Kathlyns is great encouragement to me =)
