Caden's Toy Nook!

We have a closet under the stairs that is a coat closet and storage space.  It was packed with all my coats and jackets and Jeremy's one coat ;) haha.  And behind all the coats was a ton of STUFF.  Wrapping paper, Jeremy's keyboard and amp, yoga mats, strength bands, a tub of extra wires, Old picture frames that I dont want.... just crap that needed to be dispersed to their rightful homes.  I wish I would have taken before pictures but once I started clearing it out I didnt stop! 

I knew I was going to store caden's toys in there that were camping out in the dining room along the wall, but I want to do something more fun in there too.  I got a shelf from Target today to store his puzzles and learning toys and trucks on. The ones he likes to play with most instead of keeping them in his toy box. Here's a picture of it right now:

There's hangers in there for guest coats.  But I moved all of my coats up to my closet because I have room now that i've gotten rid of all the clothes I dont wear!  If we kept them down here then caden would have to push through them just to get to his toys.  

Anyway, I was browsing through blog land looking for ideas for this space for Caden and BAM!!!  I found this blog where she created a clubhouse for her kids with a space EXACTLY like mine.  Here's a link to hers: The clubhouse .  Awesome right?! Hers is a little wider I think. But I love love love the idea of the magnet board and chalkboard.  So those are my new projects.  I'm going to make them like pictures though and not so permanent on the wall. This way I can take them out when we move, or if I decide to hang it in his room or something.   Also it's kind of dark in there so I'm going to get some light in there for him too. 

I get a lot of motivation from other bloggers.  What a wonderful way to share ideas with others.  And I will always share where I got my ideas!      I'll of course keep you posted on this space!
