Fabulous Friday! $1 lampshade makeover!

Happy Friday!  I've been lacking in the crafty department lately but today I made some time to complete something I've been putting off for a while!  It was so easy and fast too I dont know why I kept putting it off. 

In Caden's room is this lamp that I wasn't sure how to make over to match his cowboy room

Someone recommended I use a bandana and I thought ok that's a cute idea but I couldnt figure out how to implement that.  Then one day strolling through Wal Mart I saw a bandana for $1!  So I bought it and held onto it for about a month until I finally decided to use some spray adhesive!!  Perfect! 

So I started by cutting the bandana in 3 sections. 

I took one big section and sprayed the adhesive on the back of the bandana and on the lampshade

It took a few tries to get it straight.  While it's still not perfect I think it looks great!

Because the lampshade is angled the bandana wasnt going to go around perfectly.  Next I took the second big section and cut out a strip to cover the open spot.

again not perfect, but it's on the back so it doesnt have to be!

I wanted to use the extra fabric as ties for Caden's curtains because I accidentally vacuumed up one of his other ones and it ripped! oops! So Next I took the middle section and cut it in half for the two strips.  For a more finished look I sprayed the strips with adhesive and folded in the edges. 

And here it is!  Yay!!  I think it looks so great!  In this picture it kind of looks pink but it's red.

Now I'm SO IN LOVE with spray adhesive!  I've seen other bloggers use it for projects but this was my first one and I'm hooked! Now I'm trying to think of other projects to use it for.  :)

So there ya go, two fun changes to my little cowboy's room for a buck!
