I decided on a surfer theme for his birthday party. He is after all my little surfer baby with his bleach blonde hair :)
I made surfboards from the cardboard boxes that our gazebo furniture came in!
I also made some tissue puffs to hang around the house.
We had an old wood step from our previous shed that I painted saying "Caden's surf shack"
I had some blue craft sand that I scattered on top of a strip of blue swirl wallpaper that looked like water. I picked up a big roll of the wallpaper from a paint store months ago because it was on clearance for a dollar! Had no idea what I would use it for but it was only a buck ;) So glad I had it! Then I added the seashells, pineapple and some decorative tropical stems.
I set up his art easel that we got him for his birthday stating the surf report! Of course it all had to include the number 2 ;)
His surfer cupcakes. Vanilla and chocolate buttercream icing!
The party favors! Personalized sand buckets with mini inflatable beach balls and sunglasses. I had fun making these with my friend Autumn who came into town with Jeremy's buddy Josh! And of course had to hide them from Caden who kept stealing the balls and "eyes" from the buckets! haha.
My sweet friend Amy let me borrow this kiddie pool for those who wanted to just let thier little ones cool off and not have to get in themselves! Worked out great for my friends that had other plans after the party :) Caden had fun sliding with his best bud Caleb!
My mother in law and I made these fruit kabobs. :) We also had chicken pineapple skewers and hot dogs that Jeremy totally grilled to perfection but I forgot to snap a picture before it was all devoured!
The birthday boy chowing down.
My favorite picture after he opened presents. They thought it was so funny to use Caden's toy drill and drill eachother's belly buttons! So silly :)
Caden had so much fun. Thanks to everyone that came and made his day so special!
