Now here it is all finished and fun!
Dont you just love it?!
Here's the sun I made. I did the starched fabric like I did for the leprechaun I was surprised that it actually stuck to the ceiling! Its textured so I wasnt sure if it would work but it did! hooray! The stick up light I bought from amazon. It was only $7.00 with shipping! I thought it would be cute in the middle of the sun. It gives off pretty good light and runs on 4 AA batteries. But I have to make sure to turn the light off as soon as Caden is done playing in there because it can burn through some batteries!I made a tree, grass and clouds on the left wall :) the tree and grass are done with flannel material so I could cut shapes out of felt and they will stick on the wall!
I've only cut one so far to make sure it would work. Its a little doggy! Caden loves it. :)
The clouds I cut from one of Caden's old onesies. I knew I wouldnt need much white so I didnt want to buy new fabric. So I shopped my house ;)
His toy and book storage. I had the lower shelf already that I purchased at Target and realized I needed more storage but didnt want to not use something I aready bought! I wish I had the foresight to buy the bottom one in white but I didnt know I was going to paint it blue! Oh well. Caden doesnt care :)
I had to modify the white cubbies a bit. When I bought it I didnt realize it was only made to stand upright. So the shelves on the inside werent made to screw in, but sit on those little plastic things that you can adjust up or down.... Dang it! So at first I tried to just screw them in myself but the screws kept splitting the shelves. ARGH. Then I remembered the gorilla glue! duh. So I glued them in place with awesome gorilla glue! And the side that I was drilling holes through is on the bottom! hehe. Anyway moving on.
While the stick up light works, I felt like the room still neeed a litte more light. So we have a camping lantern in there too! And Caden loves to carry it around the house. It's so cute. And no its not one of those gas ones. It's battery powered and doesnt get hot so no danger to my bubba.
I had the green basket already and caden kept tearing the box the crayons were in so I put them all in the little basket instead. The bucket I got at Michaels for a dollar! So it holds his chalk and eraser.
Remember the chalkboard I made? I think it looks good against the blue!
We have a really cool store called School Tools and Toys. They have so many fun things in there I could just buy everything!! But I settled for this sign that says Jesus Loves Me and shows the signs for it. We are teaching Caden different signs for words while he's still learning to talk and he has fun with it! But that's for another post :)
And finally the hanging "shoe" organizer on the door! I've seen other bloggers use shoe organizers for other storage and my friend Allison talked about hers at a mommy and me meeting the other day so I figured I would get one too! And boy is it handy! The top half is filled with things I use like tape, glue, scissors, spare keys and what not. So it's labeled and pretty! The bottom half Caden can reach so it holds his little toys like links, magnet letters and numbers, and dinosaurs :)
I'll do a seperate post and share how I did the labels :)
So there it is!! One last look, before and after:
Let me know what you think!
