Eat your greens and love it!

Getting your kids to eat veggies is a challenge.  Unless you're my friend April whose daughter Rylie just loooooves them and will even eat cabbage! I know right? If only all kids had that appetite!  And let's face it, I'm sure we, as adults, arent getting as much as we need either.  Hence the V8 commercials ;)

Something we like to make are "green" smoothies!  I say "green" because they dont always turn out green, just depends on what you put in it!  But I always have a base of what I use in our smoothies:

*Yogurt (whatever flavor your feeling that day. I typically like vanilla)
*spinach (fresh or frozen and no you cannot taste it)
*fruit (fresh or frozen)
*juice, water, or milk
*1 TBSP Flax seed oil (I buy mine at a local health food store called peachtree natural.  It's refigerated.  And you absolutely cannot taste it.  It adds a healthy fat to the smoothie.)
*ice cubes if you want more of a frozen treat.

And here is my secret weapon:

The Magic Bullet.  So easy to use and clean up is a breeze. I also use it to make latte's!

For this smoothie this is what I used.  I also added a couple frozen strawberries but forgot to add it in the picture ;)

I dont measure anything except the flax seed oil.  I just add stuff until it's full! It doesnt look like much spinach but it's 2 handfuls of fresh spinach.  You can get more spinach in there when you use frozen!

Blend it up!

And Enjoy!

Caden loves smoothies and can drink a whole one of these.  I love making them for him especially on days he is super picky!

Did I mention how good these are for diets too?  You get all kinds of nutrients and feel full especially with the help of the flax seed oil.
You can totally be creative with what you put in it and have a different treat every day. :)
