Week in Pictures #2

Happy Sunday! Last week was pretty busy and a little crazy towards the end with things deciding to break! And no they cant stagger out thier timing either, its got to be ALL AT ONCE! Luckily nothing was major, just very annoying and I have yet to fix the kitchen faucet. 

Anyway I did not want to fall behind on my pictures as I feel like I've fallen short on chores and unfortunately missed a couple of workouts towards the end of the week. 

I started taking a free online mini photo class to improve my photography skills and hopefully learn a little more about the different settings on my camera!  This was the first week and our assignment was to make sure our shot had straight lines and clean backgrounds.  Basically dont let your picture be crooked and make sure the background of your picture isnt too noisy and distracting from your subject.  I think I got some really great shots! Here are a couple from my little photo shoot:

We are only allowed to submit one photo to an online photo album for class and then the teacher chooses her favorites that best portray that week's lesson to highlight in the following week's email.  This one of Caden laughing is what I submitted.  He is just so precious! You cant look at that picture and not smile :)

There are a couple hundred people taking part in this class so even though I had hoped for feedback from the teacher I didnt get any.  But the students are all supposed to critique eachother's pictures so I got a couple of "tips" from others. haha. I say "tips" because I only got two comments, one was nice but told me my lines were crooked... yeah I tried my best to get caden straight on the porch but wiggly two year olds dont care about straight! I was just happy to get such a beautiful smile! Maybe she doesnt have kids ;) The other suggested I play with the color in the photo to make it pop more which was great advice because once I did I wished I would have done so before I submitted my pic!

I'm using the smiling one of caden for our photo album this week, and the others I plan to frame and put up around the house! Here are the other three photos Summing up our week :)

At Caden's first hockey game!  it was very difficult getting a good one of him watching the game so this was the best I could do.  He had a lot of fun even though we only stayed an hour.  The tickets were free courtesy of our friends Heather and her son Eli.  They were so cute jumping up and down and shouting along with the crowd!

Caden loves to pretend cook so I got him his own mini cooking utensils and gave him the smallest pot and pan from the cabinet.  We had fun "cooking" but really Caden just wanted to scoop and measure the beads.

Two of my beautiful Besties :) This was taken at April's (center) house for her kids joint birthday party! Both of her little ones were born in January so she had a super cute Hungry Caterpillar themed party.  We had to get a picture wearing our caterpillar headbands!

Thanks for sticking with me throug this long post! :) i'll try to keep my photo class pictures and Week in pictures posts seperate next week! My goal is for my everyday picture taking to be just as good as my practice ones!
