Hey yall :) I know I'm terrible at actually getting my fab friday posts on FRIDAY! Things just get so busy and before I know it it's Friday night and I have no time to write it!
So on to my (weekend) Fabulous Friday post :) So what I think is Fabulous this week and actually every week since I signed up is E-mealz!! I had heard about this website a while back from a friend and didnt think much of it. I assumed the meals wouldnt be that great and didnt feel like spending $5 a month for something I was sure I wouldnt like. Why was I being so negative?! I have no idea. Then I heard about it again from a different friend and thought ok I could at least give it a shot and just see if it works for us and if it doesnt I can always cancel.
So I started it with the Publix for two menu. They have all kinds of different menu plans to choose from and include different grocery stores so you can choose which store you prefer. I chose the two person plan because Caden obviously doesnt eat a ton so no need to do the family plan which can feed 4-6 people.
E-mealz gives you a weekly menu plan based on your store's sales. That was the biggest selling point for me. It is so hard for me to figure out the sales and menu plan around them! I used to not create a menu plan for the week, I would just go to the store and buy the things we like and then I would end up throwing out a bunch of produce that went bad before we got to it. And have a cabinet full of stuff that we werent eating because not much of it would match up for a meal! I want to throw up thinking of how much money we wasted.
I then started creating menu plans for us each week and was saving some money but I didnt plan around sales. And not to mention I kept choosing meals that I had to buy ALL the ingredients for and not using things I had on hand. oh gosh.
SO I started using e-mealz. I cannot tell you how much we have saved already because I've been terrible at keeping track but just know it's enough to be IN LOVE with this site!! Before we were always going over our budget. Now we have cash to spare :) I mean being able to buy dinners for the week and spend less than $40 is FABULOUS. Keep in mind this is the two person plan so if you need to do the family plan it won't be $40. I think it's around $80 which is still FAB.
Also, the meals are so good!! That's important right?! haha. I mean saving money is awesome but it has to taste good while you do it! Now it's not perfect so expect some meals wont meet your tastes. But overall it's totally wonderful. And a variety! Crockpot meals, quick meals, italian, mexican, american, steak, breakfast for dinner (my fav!), It never gets boring.
While it's saving us money, it's also saving time! I dont have to sit down and menu plan, I just print, check my cabinets for what I already have and hit the store! And I know what I'm going to make each night so there's no staring into the fridge and cabinets wondering "what's for dinner". OH and let me not forgot to mention how organized the list is. It's seperated by section of the grocery store. So dairy items are listed together, frozen items, meats, etc. So you're not running around trying to find everything on your list. It makes shopping so quick! Which is important on days I have to bring Caden with me, or have to run really quick when I have 50 errands to do.
Ok so there you have it! And NO I was not paid to write this :) Although I wish I was! I just want everyone to be able to save money too! Let me know if you have questions. If you're skeptical just give it a shot! It's VERY affordable and couldnt hurt to just try it. And if you sign up let me know how it goes!
Maybe next week I'll actually post a fab friday post on FRIDAY! haha. Hope you're having a good weekend!
