Backyard projects!

Finally! After about two months of on and off work I can share with you our brand new shed!!  A shed? you say.  Not very exciting.  I know. But compared to what it was before, and a completely unfortunate accident it's absolutely beautiful!  And the area around the pool has come pretty far too :)

This is a picture when we first bought the house. This is what we had before....that rusty thing to the left was the shed we had painted it but I couldnt find a picture of just the shed.  I guess it wasnt that exciting to take a picture of ;)

Here's a little better picture of the shed painted. And the fence we had put in around the pool!
In the newer pictures below you will see it has been stained white :) That was a huge project! but I got a nice tan from it :)

Here are some photos of the shed crushed by part of a tree falling on it!

That's the unfortunate accident I was talking about! So Jeremy tore it all down and we went shopping for a new shed.

Here's a picture of him and some buddies putting it up!

And...... ta-da!

dont you just love it?! We most certainly do.  And the blue is soooo dreamy.  It totally gives the backyard so much more color! The paint color is appropriately named leisure blue ;)

We also stained the concrete around the pool to give it a fresh look.
this was what it looked like after it was power washed.

Ready to be stained!

here's the contrast of the stain to the reg concrete.  And my foot ;)

And of course we had to tape off the pool liner.  Isnt taping things off a pain?! it makes painting projects that much longer.  But its necessary... sigh.

And here are the beautiful after pictures!

Love love love love love it!!!

I've been dieing to do some landscaping around the pool so yesterday we went to a local nursery and picked up 3 palms. Planted one in this corner by the chairs.

here's a close up of it.

And the other two by the entrance to the pool from the deck. They will grow to be this big:

These are the same kind of palms by the gazebo. I love them. And they take no maintnance. none. :) And the guy at the nursery said once they reach maturity a flower blooms from the center! I hope we live here to see the big ones bloom!!

What happened to that tree that fell on the shed you ask?

Jeremy cut it all down and we let it die in the back and today he started burning it.

Dont worry it's in a fire pit :)

I dont think i've ever shared a picture of the rest of our back yard so here it is! God has blessed us with plenty of afternoon thunderstorms to water the grass so its all so pretty and green :)

We are so happy to say that the backyard projects are complete!!! eeeek!!!  Happy happy joy joy!! Just in time for Caden's 2nd birthday bash next weekend! Stay tuned for all the fun decorations I am making for his surfer themed party :)
Next summer we will restain the deck but that's NEXT YEAR.  So for now we will be enjoying our backyard and all the hard work we have put into it!
