5 year Anniversary!

Jeremy and I are coming up on our 5th anniversary!  I wanted to blog about it now while I have time since we will be busy with a family reunion next week!

August 5th 2006 I married the most wonderful man.  My best friend.  And truly who God meant for me to be with.  We met March 17th 2006. St. Patty's Day in Savannah :) And yes 5 months later.  We got hitched!  We just knew it was right.  Looking back at the past 5 years we have already experienced so much!

Like any marriage we have good days and bad.  We've experienced numerous deployments and training.  Being seperated is no easy task but it makes the time we are together that much sweeter.  We've seen our brother's and sisters get married.  Experienced the birth of our son Caden and the loss of our son Christian.  Experiencing all these things with eachother as husband and wife.  Through Thick and thin.  For better or worse.  With God as our guide.

These are our vows:
"I ____ in the sight of these witnesses and the Lord, promise you _____ to love you and to honor you. To be patient with you, to cherish you, to protect you, to trust you, to be faithful and committed to only you throughout our lives in the good times and even the bad times, I will always support you and love you until death do us part"

And our ring vows:
" I give you this ring as a symbol of my love and lifelong commitment to you as a promise of my vows. I receive you as God's gift to me. And loving you so long as we shall live."

Here's some pictures of us over the past 5 years

At my brother's wedding July 9th 2011!

That was so much fun looking back at our pictures! So blessed to know this man and walk through life with him. God is so amazing and faithful.

A couple of my favorite verses about love and marriage:

“And be kind one to another, tender-hearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you.” Ephesians 4:32

“Love suffers long, and is kind; love does not envy; love does not promote itself, is not puffed up, does not behave badly, seeks not her own, is not easily provoked, thinks no evil; does not rejoice in iniquity, but rejoices in the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things. Love never fails” 1Corinthians 13:4-8
