Valentines Day Party!

We just had such a fun valentines day party at the house and I'm so eager to show you pictures!  I hosted the party at my house for our Mommy Matters group.  Party goers brought treats to share and the kids went crazy!

Despite the madness of sugar highs and crashes, everyone had a great time and some wonderful conversations.  Nothing better than feeling comfortable around other women that remind you your kid isn't the only one that throw fits in public :)

Now for the pictures! I had a blast planning and decorating with things I already had on hand.  I tend to find ideas and then spend way too much money at the store buying supplies.  So I will do my best to do separate posts on my home made decor!

The goodies!  The best decision I made was to ask for volunteers to bring treats.  I usually try to do it all myself and stress and then I don't have fun.  I created this decor around the chandelier using fabric I had left over from our wedding (5 years ago! ya never know when things come in handy!) some random red ribbon I had, and coffee filter roses!

I'll share how I made these soon. Aren't they beautiful?

Before the treats

After!

I made these "cupid's arrows" with Jelly heart candies and pretzel sticks!

I think every kid had 5 of these marshmallows each!  At least Caden did.... and suprise surprise, he is not tired enough to take a nap! Oh goodness what was I thinking?!

I made these apple heart skewers and I thought they turned out so cute!

The kids finger painting table

I made these lacing cards for the kids to finger paint and take home as their valentine.

I made home made finger paints for the kids to use and they didnt turn out as well as I thought they would.  More like a jelly texture.  They did the job, and were easy to clean up though!

No party is complete without a tissue pom pom :)

I wrote this on the window in the kitchen and it was almost impossible to get a good picture of it.  But you get the idea I hope :)

The kid's masterpieces drying.

I hope everyone has a very Happy Valentines Day!!
